This week I had the opportunity to read many articles about how to handle with money, I will share here about the article called: Attitude On Money from Stephen W. Gibson, and three fundamental questions that will align thoughts about money.
First question: What is your attitude toward money? Our attitude toward money is very important because it will determine if we are able to gain more or not. Stephen says: "For me, I believe we need to think about and understand money; what it is and how to get it. We cannot go through life saying we don't want to "even think about money." As leaders and fathers we need to thing about money because we need money to bring food on the table, give a better opportunity to our kids and so on. I see money as a fuel to achieve our goals. People without money are like a car without gasoline. If we think about money we will find ways to gain money, if we pray, work and follow the instructions we receive, money will come to you. Once you have received enough money for your needs, it is time to help others.
Second question: How can your view of money affect the way you live? This question always make me think what is the most important for me, I really don´t see money as the most important but very necessary for to maintain and keep the most important things for my life. My family is the most important thing for me, but I know that without money is very difficult to keep a united family. The relations I see between money and way of living are very close. First I plan the ways of living I would like to have and after I start thinking how to gain enough money for that.
The third question: What are the rules for prospering?
Rule 1. Seek the Lord and have hope in him
Rule 2. Keep the commandments, that includes the temporal ones, tithing and fast offerings.
Rule 3. Think about money and plan how you can become self-reliant.
Rule 4. Take advantage of chances for learning so you will not be ignorant of these matters. Education, as President Hinckley has taught us, is the Key to Opportunity.
Rule 5. Learn the laws upon which the blessings of wealth are predicated.
Rule 6. Do not send away the naked, the hungry, the thirsty or the sick or those who are held captive.
These are the rules to prosper according to the article. I believe these rules work pretty well I also would like to add one more rule: WORK HARD!!!
