Good Will and Persistence

You can´t do it! No, it is not possible, sorry! I could not do it for you, sorry! You are a liar! I don´t trust you! You deceive people! This is just some of the sentences an entrepreneur listens during his life, and it really hurts when he listens that, but it hurts more when it come from people you thought  was your friend.

As you may know I started my entrepreneur life since I was a kid. I was seven years-old and I sold old newspaper for the mini-markets we had near my house, they paid me some cents for the used news paper, that they used to pack the products, like eggs, and milk bags, so with that money I bought bubble gums to sell for my classmates at school, cheaper than they sold at school´s convenience store. And with that money I bought my toys and things for me. As I was getting older we (me and my brother) always sold things to make a living, thinks like food, candies and so on, but just for fun, and for the money, for sure!

The time passed, and I started my chemistry technician course at the age of 14 and when I was 15 I started working in a metallurgical, at the age of 16 I started working for the governor in the agricultural area, when I was 19 I served a mission, as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints and it was a great time in my life that inspired me. The instructions I received there and the people I meet there, will influence my life for all the eternity. This two years of my life one thing that I learned was: What people thing about you do not matter much, what you really are is what matters most.

When I arrived home after finishing my mission, march 2003 I was decided to change the course. I wanted to have my own company, to run my own business and to be free!!!So I started. I and my friend Claudio Rodrigues. We open one English school "WIZARD" August 2003. Now Claudio is not working with me but he has his own company also. During this time, we should broke at least three times, but we (me and my family) decided to believe in our potential to overcame difficulties and challenges, we changed the course, we corrected wrong things and keep moving forward!

I don´t think our company is an outstanding company, but it is helping people to became better each day, we send abroad more than 100 people each year to interchange programs, we give them the opportunity to get promoted where they work, we help them to have their first job, we teach about other countries culture, sometimes we instruct them about their career, we teach discipline in developing a task and so on. Today we have three WIZARD SCHOOLS and more than 900 students, and we already graduated more than 2000 students during this years.

I will conclude with this quotation from the book A field guide for a hero´s journey "Your goal is important but is how you reach your goal, what you do before the end, that has the potential to transform your very self, so that the end of your journey you not only achieve something great but also became something great"

U$ 100,00 Challenge, WEEK ONE

Last week I wrote about the project we would start and today I will report how was it. We start to offer our services, ( when I say our is because its me and my wife, she is the person who "knows the things", I am the person who "manage and sell" ) and we have some clients this week, with a considerable profit. In every business my hint is always have someone who "knows the things" and other who "sell the things" it is possible to have both in a single person, but to execute both functions is very difficult, so in our case we decided to separate the functions. we both have to know about products and how to sell it but each one execute one specific function.           This week I read about how important is the name of your company, and how the entrepreneurs let to choose the name of his or her company as the last part of the process. We worried about the business plan, budget, partnerships, clients among many others and we le...
