How to take better decisions.



DECISIONS:
          
          This week I have the opportunity to learn about how to take a decision. I decided to make a quick research about the subject with my friends asking them two questions:

First:

-When you have to take a decision about something how do you decide?

Second:

-When do you have to take an important decision about your life how do you decide?

         
          The answer always followed the same pattern, for the first questions they usually answered, “-I just act”, and for the second question they start thinking a little more and usually say the same answer “-I think about the subject and after decide”.

         
          We have different decisions to make every day in our life, but in general we have two kinds of decisions, important, that will affect our future, and not important, that will not affect our future.  

          
          In business all the decisions are important, because it will affect directly the future of the company, since how much you will spend with toilet paper until what project will bring you more clients. All successful entrepreneur that I know think before take decision in their companies. As I learned this week and I loved to have learned that  “The case method of management instruction is based upon the belief that management is a skill rather than a collection of techniques or concepts…….The best way to learn a skill is to practice in a simulation”

          
          I liked to read MANAGEMENT IS A SKILL. This change the whole thing!!! So you can be a manager or a entrepreneur if you develop the skills to became one. And the best way to develop a skill is PRACTICE IN A SIMULATION. Before try decisions practice them but not in the “real world” But in a SIMULATION. You can ask questions like: What did I learn from that simulation? What are the consequences of this decisions? Will it be profitable? Will it bring more costumers? Will it satisfies my employees? How did it help my city, or my state or my country? Wherever there many questions you may ask in this simulation.

          
          After you have obtained all the answers you will take a better decision, and this will make all the difference in the future of your business and your life. Remember most business stop operating because their managegers took bad decisions along the way. So be smart and before taking a decision for your business practice it in a simulation.

THE MOST IMPORTANT TOOL FOR PEOPLE AND ACHIEVE BETTER RESULTS

This week I had the opportunity to evaluate the results we are achieving in our quarterly report. I like to compare some indicators to understand if our business is growing or not. I compare the first quarter 2018 with the first quarter 2017 and the last quarter 2017. The indicators I compare are: 1. Number of new enrolaments 2. Number of renovations (retention of students) 3. Total number of students 4. Profit. After have this numbers I realized that, all the things were better than 2017 except the number of new enrolments. I got surprised because in the other two schools that we have this number was excellent. After analyzing it I made a lot of plans for the second quarter for that school which had never achieved the goal. This friday I had a meeting with them (the sale department).
